THE KEFALONIA YEAR

During May and June, the island is particularly beautiful with an abundance of wild flowers. Locals are busy looking after their gardens, beehives and vineyards. It's a good time to go if you enjoy walking. Kefalonia offers so much in the way of mountain walks and beautiful views- as well as the obvious pleasure of the sea. The temperature is approximately 24-32 degrees C.

July and August are the hottest months of the year. The hotels and tavernas are very busy with visitors. Other locals are seeing to their harvesting. They rise early and have a siesta in the afternoon. The temperature is approximately 33-42 degrees C.

September and October , rather like the spring, is a wonderful time to visit Kefalonia. It is still hot, but not overbearing, the sea is still warm and people are more relaxed at the end of the season. Locals are busy preparing for winter and the grapes are harvested for the wine. The temperature is approximately 27-34 degrees C.
