Domestic trains:
In Athens, the railway station is Larissa station, Deliigianni street. In Piraeus, the station for Kalamata and the Peloponnese is near the Piraeus-Athens metro on Akti Kalimassioti.

There is daily railway service connecting Athens to Kavassila in the prefecture of Helia (16 km from Kylini). From there, a local train (only in the summer or taxi transfers the passengers wishing to continue their trip, to the port of Kylini, and from there to Kefalonia (the trip from Athens to Kylini lasts 6.5h). From the port of Kylini, ferryboats transfer travelers to the island of Kefalonia.
