Trains to Kefalonia

Getting a train to Kefalonia is not a popular choice unless you live in Athens, Greece, however it can be done.

There are train services from Athens in Greece that will connect to Kavassila in the prefecture of Helia. From there a local train (only in the summer or taxi transfers the passengers wishing to continue their trip, to the port of Kylini, and from there to Kefalonia (the trip from Athens to Kylini lasts 6.5h). From the port of Kylini, ferryboats transfer travelers to the island of Kefalonia.
